FAQ
How working with us actually works
Straight answers about pricing, structure, and what you get.
How do you charge?
Two ways. Monthly advisory plans are priced to the needs of your business and cover the ongoing CFO relationship. Hourly consulting is billed at $250 per hour for reviews, assessments, or one-off questions. Project work — funding preparation, reporting builds, profit improvement — is scoped and quoted with defined deliverables and timelines.
Which one fits depends on how much of the CFO seat your business actually needs right now. Full pricing detail is here. Existing clients can pay an invoice or set up card and ACH payment here.
Am I too small for this?
We typically work with companies generating over $1 million in revenue. Below that, hourly guidance is usually the better value, and we will tell you so rather than sell you a retainer you are not ready for.
What does a month actually look like?
We follow a structured system: we run the analysis, then meet with you and your management team at least monthly to go through it. Between sessions you can email us or book time whenever something comes up — you are not billed by the question. We are your CFO on call during business hours.
Do you replace my bookkeeper or my CPA?
No. They are different jobs. Your bookkeeper records what happened, your CPA keeps you compliant and files the return, and the CFO seat owns what happens next — forecasting, pricing, cash strategy, and the decisions those numbers should drive. We work alongside both, and we are often the reason their work finally gets used for something.
My books are a mess. Do I need to fix that first?
Messy books are the normal starting condition, so it is not a reason to wait. We do not do the cleanup ourselves — bookkeeping cleanup is a different job from the CFO seat. What we do is tell you honestly what shape the data is in, and Annette can refer you to trusted professionals she works with to get the books organized and current before the CFO work starts. Waiting until everything is tidy on your own is how three years go by.
Am I locked into a contract?
Engagements are month to month rather than locked into a long-term contract. If it is not working, tell us.
Do you work with businesses outside Utah?
Yes. The work is monthly and data-driven rather than desk-bound, so we work with companies across the country by video and shared reporting. Our office is in South Jordan, Utah, and we meet Salt Lake Valley clients in person when it is useful.
What if I don't know what I need?
That is the most common starting point. Book the free 30-minute call and describe the situation — we will tell you which of the three engagement models fits, or whether the answer is to wait.
